Forro is a couple's dance from the northeast of Brazil that is now popular all over the world.
The best forro dancers, teachers and musicians from around Australia will all be together at this festival in Melbourne in December.

Teachers:
Carlos Eduester (Edu) and Nayara Marcia (Nay) are forró instructors from Minas Gerais, Brazil now based in Brisbane, who have been teaching Forró for over 15 years. They have their own style and seek to share their passion for the dance, teaching advanced techniques, and valuing the importance of good connections, musicality and the role of leaders and followers.
Katya & Leo Rio
Leo's from Rio de Janeiro and has been dancing forró for over 20 years. He now teaches forro and works as a forro musician in Melbourne. Before moving to Melbourne, he was the owner of and teacher at Forró Norway dance school and has gave workshops and classes all around Europe. Leo is also a forró musician and and was a renowned DJ in Europe, which means he has the perfect trifecta of knowledge of forró history, musicality and dance.
Katya teaches forro with Leo in Melbourne. She danced different latin styles of Latin and Afro until she found forró. She fell in love with the roots style of forro while travelling in Brazil and since then has been perfecting her connection and musicality techniques building on her previous dance experience.
Sarah Quinn has been a professional dancer for over 20 years and grew up in a melting pot of different Portuguese speaking cultures, She feel in love with Forró in the heat of the forró universitario wave in the late 90’s and has since travelled and lived all over Brazil and Europe. Sarah is the founder and co-director of Perth Forró Perth Samba and teaches regular classes, organises events and Performances within Perth and Australia.
